Martha Liliana is in charge of providing tax and accounting advice to companies that belong in a number of economic sectors, for tax optimization purposes.

Has broad knowledge in tax planning and compliance, merger and acquisition processes, due diligence procedures, transfer pricing, deferred taxes and international financial reporting standards – IFRS.

  • Certified public accountant from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. 

  • Specialist in tax audits from the Universidad Santo Tomás.  

  • Special diploma program in international taxation. Colombian Institute of Tax Law (ICDT for the Spanish initials). 

  • She has provided continuous tax advice and tax compliance support services to a number of companies in the energy, oil and gas, road construction, hotel, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and air transportation sectors – among others.
  • She has participated in more than 50 tax due diligence projects as well as in a number of transactions carried out in Colombia with support from one of the Big Four consulting firms. The latter included the acquisition of a business unit from Exxon Mobil Colombia SA by Copec, the acquisition of Grupo El Corral Group by Grupo Nutresa, the acquisition of EPSA and CETSA by Colinversiones, the acquisition of Hotel NH93 by Atton Hoteles, the acquisition of assets of HSBC in four Latin American countries by Grupo Gilinski – among others.
  • She has participated in restructuring projects involving tax planning strategies. Has reviewed the tax aspects of a number of financial models for pipelines, concessions and hydrocarbons transportation.
  • Her experience includes as well special tax diagnostics projects, tax planning projects, the design of strategies for answering to proposed additions to tax issued by the tax authorities and the tax and accounting review of expert opinions.
  • Professor of tax audits in the program of specialization in Tax Sciences of Universidad Central.
